When the Olympus E-PL1 was introduced back in 2010, the retail price of this Micro Four Thirds camera was set around $599. It was claimed to be an affordable all-in-one package camera for the industry. Mid 2011, there was a slight price cut which was $499 and from there on it never budged. This camera is now on Amazon.com for $299 which is a significant price adjustment and it is now an affordable camera for the amateur photographer.
Some key features of this 3rd generation PEN series camera include: 12 MP images, direct record button for fast HD videos, interchangeable lenses, Live Guide tutorials, shoot still images during video recording, 19 scenes to choose from, iAuto mode, face detection, in camera panorama, iEnhance, connectivity to output devices, large LCD display, and much more.
This is an interesting addition to Amazon and with the price cut, we wonder what Olympus is introducing next. Stay posted for further updates.
