Samsung announced they are shipping white models of their popular smartphone, the Galaxy Nexus. Last summer, iPhone fans demanded white iPhone 4 but Apple only produced a limited amount. Outraged consumers actually sought out fabricators to rebuild their black iPhone 4 with a white shell. Samsung is avoiding the chaos by giving people what they want. Obviously, there is a demand for phones of different colors. Color options may be good for consumers but overall it could be bad for business. Undesirable colors may sit on shelves for a long time and back up the company's inventory. Manufactures such as Samsung must believe customer loyalty is more important than the possibility of excess inventory. Kudos for that.
