Viewsonic recently reported they will revamp the ViewPhone line with the indroduction of 3 new Android smartphones. The company had mediocre success with the ViewPhone 3 so instead of simply updating it with Android ICS, they decided to redesign the ViewPhone image. The new ViewPhone line will have a wide range of performance and price options. Viewsonic has not released too much details about the devices but let's take a look at the information available for each device.
The first of ViewSonic smartphone line is the ViewPhone 4s. The 4s is the premium model of the 3 and it features a 3.5-inch 960 x 640 Super Clear IPS LCD display. The phone will feature a five-megapixel rear facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It will be powered by a 1GHz processor but no word on RAM memory.
Next we have ViewSonic ViewPhone 4e. Although the ViewPhone 4e may look similar to the 4s the performance is noticiable. This mid-grade smartphone will be powered by a slower 650MHz processor and will have a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 LCD display. The 4e will sport a single 3 megapixel rear facing camera.
Last but not least is the ViewPhone 5e. This is the bigger of the 3 smartphone as it has a 5 inch display with 800 x 480 resolution. No further information was provided for the ViewPhone 5e.
All three devices will ship with Android ICS and all devices will have dual-sim capabilities. Judging by the specs, these phones will be entry-level devices. WIth dual-core and quad-core technology already common with other phones, these Viewphones seem a little outdated. We will see when more information is released.
Stay tuned for updates.
