Imagine relaxing in your pool on your personal floating pool chair checking your email on your tablet. What? No Way!! What if you dropped it in the pool, splashed by a 2nd grader launching cannon balls or get struck by a stray water balloon?! Well not to worry because the new Pantech Element is very inexpensive. Hmm.. inexpensive as in disposable? Not exactly, although the Element IS in fact inexpensive, but it's also the first waterproof digital tablet. This may not be the best Android tablet on the market, but if you are a multi-tablet household, the Element should be one of them.
For performance, the Element is no slouch. It has a compact design with a 8 inch screen producing 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. It's 1.5GHz dual core processor runs Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS and the 16GB of internal memory can be further expanded via a microSD memory card slot. This waterproof tablet hosts a 5 megapixel rear facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear facing camera is capable of recording videos at 720p HD. All the ports, mini-USB, mini-HDMI, microSD card slot, sim card slot and headphone jack, are protected by plastic covers that seal the device's internal components. With 1 GB of RAM, the Pantech Element is capable of running any Android app with ease.
Now I wouldn't put on my goggles and jump into the deep end of the pool to test the Pantech Element's 4G LTE connection. Actually, when the device is submerged, it goes into a sleep mode and needs to be dried before it can be used. This water resistant tablet is great for people who work or play around H2O. Pantech's motto for this tablet, "Built for Real Life", makes sense to me.
Pantech Element Price: AT&T is offering a bundle deal where if you buy the waterproof Pantech Element tablet for $249.99 and you will get a Pantech Burst Free with contract.
