Computer maker Acer recently entered the tablet market so the next logical step is to take a stab at smartphones. Last night, Acer announced their second line of smartphone to reveal at MWC. The new smartphone, cleverly named Liquid Glow, will be an entry-level Android phone with a soft-touch casing and a glossy finish. With the introduction of the new product, Acer will offer 3 stylish color options: Sakura Pink, Alpine White, and Cat's-eye Black.
Ok, we know it looks nice and feel good in the hand, but how will it perform. Acer announced that Liquid Glow will ship with Android 4.1 ICS so you won't have to worry about waiting for updates. That's always good news. Other known facts are: 3.7 inch WVGA screen, 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash, panoramic image capture and touch focus. Liquid Glow will be NFC enabled so users and experience Android Beam for easy data sharing. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm 7227A 1GHz processor with 1GB of storage and 512MB of RAM.
The Liquid Glow is not intended to compete with high end ultra-performance smartphone. It will instead give consumers a budget friendly option with the benefits of full Android experience.
